A1

Three dates, six times to choose:

March 26: 1:00 p.m. and 2:15 p.m.
April 8: 10:00 a.m. and 11:15 a.m.

April 22: 10:00 a.m. and 11:15 a.m.

While leading the walk, Carol Trosset will speak to the critical place that ephemeral wildflowers hold in the ecosystem. Ephemeral wildflowers are native plants that live in wooded areas and bloom in the spring before the trees leaf out. They are an important part of the forest ecosystem and provide food for many pollinators. They are threatened by habitat loss and spread of invasive (non-native) plants.

Registration for the Wildflower Walk & Talk is required as each walk is limited to 15 participants. Register by emailing: customerservice@wyomingohio.gov

How to Prepare for a Spring Walk & Talk in Stearns Woods:

  • Park at Hilltop School (Oliver Road) to meet your guide, please arrive 15 minutes early.
  • Each walk will last approximately one hour and participants must be able to walk and stand for at least one hour.
  • These events are not handicap accessible. Due to rough walking terrain, wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes and long pants. Dress for the weather.
  • Bring a backpack for snacks, water, notepads, camera, and other things you might need. Walking sticks are a good idea.
  • Register by emailing customerservice@wyomingohio.gov if heavy rain or snow cancels, you will be notified by email.
