Within the period reviewed, the nursing home earned an overall CMS rating of five, an achievement that exceeds Ohio’s state nursing home average of 3.2. CMS evaluations cover essential areas including health inspections, staffing, and resident care quality.

Data show that Lodge Nursing & Rehab Center averaged 107.6 residents daily during the first quarter of 2026, with a capacity for 120 beds. The facility is not associated with a hospital.

U.S. Census Bureau estimates indicate that the country’s older population continues to expand as totals among younger groups decline. From 2020 to 2024, the number of Americans age 65 and older grew by 13%, while the population under 18 dropped by 1.7%. The nation’s senior population has increased substantially throughout the past century, from 4.9 million in 1920 to over 61 million in 2024.

Research from 2021 projects that nearly half of adults in this demographic—approximately 28 million—will need long-term services and support, with over one-third expected to require nursing home care during their lifetime.

“Living a long life is something that many of us want and could get,” said Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance, an insurance education organization. “But when we live a long life, the chances of us needing long-term care increase exponentially. But when you need that type of care, there are limited options.”
