The Realtor Alliance of Greater Cincinnati (RAGC) announced on Apr. 1 that it will match up to $10,000 in donations to support the annual Real Estate Community Build with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Cincinnati. The initiative calls on members and industry partners to contribute, with all donations from members and brokerages being doubled by RAGC.

The effort comes as communities in the region face increasing challenges related to housing affordability. Rising construction costs and limited inventory have made homeownership more difficult for many working families, according to RAGC. The organization said contributions will help bridge the gap between building costs and what families can afford, providing access to safe housing and supporting long-term financial stability.

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Cincinnati’s Affordable Homeownership Program helps low- and moderate-income families become first-time homeowners through new home construction, volunteer partnerships, zero percent interest mortgages with no down payment required, as well as financial education and home maintenance training. Due to higher material and labor expenses, community initiatives like this build are considered essential by organizers.

The Real Estate Community Build brings together real estate professionals from across the industry who collectively fund and construct a Habitat home. Participants are encouraged not only to donate but also volunteer at the job site in Hamilton, Ohio on June 17 or June 25; each shift is limited to ten volunteers per session. Registration must be completed by June 15 through Habitat’s Volunteer Hub.

Partnering organizations highlight several benefits: “A meaningful way to support affordable housing in our region,” “a team-building experience that strengthens internal engagement,” and “a visible demonstration of your organization’s commitment to community impact.” The event reflects a broader pattern of charitable activities led by local real estate groups; the official website reports that the Cincinnati Area Board of Realtors regularly engages in such initiatives across Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.

In addition to charity work, the board provides advocacy, education opportunities including professional development courses, networking events for real estate professionals, market data resources, legal guidance services as well as legislative representation according to its official website. It operates as a trade organization dedicated specifically for those working within real estate fields throughout this region.
