Americans With Disabilities Act

Ada

City of Norwood issued the following announcement on Mar 22.

Americans with Disabilities Act

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is a foundational piece of American Civil Rights legislation. The ADA, among other things, guarantees equal opportunity for people with disabilities to participate in the mainstream of American Life. This includes access to employment opportunities, to purchase goods and services, and to participate in state and local government programs and services.

To be protected under the ADA, an individual must be disabled, have a history or record of such impairment, or be perceived as disabled. A disability is defined by the ADA as a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities.

The City of Norwood conducts an on-going Self-Evaluation process with the goal to provide a continuously updated Transition Plan. Inquiries may be directed to the City of Norwood, City Hall, 4645 Montgomery Rd, Norwood, Ohio 45212.

The ADA Coordinator for the City of Norwood is Keith Hamrick, Human Resources Director. He may be reached at 4645 Montgomery Rd, Norwood, OH 45212, by phone at 513.458.4512, or by e-mail at  khamrick@norwoodohio.gov
