SHARE YOUR FAVORITE RECIPE!

This summer the Springdale Health Department wants to build community through sharing your favorite healthy treat recipes. Each week we will share a recipe that is submitted by one of our  community members.

INSTRUCTIONS: 

1. Preheat oven to 350℉.

2. In a bowl mix together the dry ingredients. 

3. Mash bananas and mix wet ingredients with bananas.

4. Combine the dry and wet ingredients with an electric mixer. Mix until blended evenly. 

5. Add any optional additions at this time, fold them in gently.

6. Spray bread pan or muffin tin and pour in mixture. 

7. Bake for 55 minutes, add time if needed. 

The Truth Behind the Treat: 

Bananas are great for heart health! Just one medium banana contains 425 mg of potassium. This small snack makes up 12% of the daily value of the mineral. Potassium is essential for good heart health because it keeps electricity flowing in your body, which aids in keeping the heart pumping. In addition, the fruit has no sodium, which is also a plus for heart health.
