Pat Furterer Receives 'City of Loveland Award' | City of Loveland

Pat Furterer received the City of Loveland Award at the Clermont County Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Salute to Leaders event on March 29 the Oasis Conference Center in Loveland.

Furterer was nominated by the City of Loveland to recognize her outstanding leadership and commitment to the city, including her contributions to the Loveland Stage Company and Valentine Lady Program.

“We are fortunate that Mrs. Furterer chose Loveland as her home and, on behalf of the City of Loveland, we thank her for the lifelong contributions she has made to the community and the Loveland Stage Company,” said Mayor Kathy Bailey.

Furterer helped found the Loveland Stage Company in 1979. During the next 40 years, she volunteered for every one of its productions. At one time or another she directed, produced, acted, publicized, ushered, sold tickets, worked the hospitality counter, designed programs, constructed, decorated sets, managed the house or stage crew, handled props, and developed the patron program. As if that wasn’t enough, she also served on the Loveland Stage Company’s board in every position. In 2013, the board elected her as President Emeritus.

Additionally, she is an active member of the Loveland Woman’s Club, is a Loveland Valentine Lady, and was director of the Loveland Chamber of Commerce.

For her dedicated community involvement, Furterer is a past recipient of the city’s prestigious Louis G. Rookwood Award, the Key to the City, and the Art Rouse Award. In 1999, the Loveland Chamber of Commerce started a scholarship award in her name for a student who exemplifies her character and spirit.  In 2022, she was inducted into the Ohio Senior Citizens Hall of Fame for her lifelong contribution to the community and theater.

In January 2023, the city added to her list of accolades with an honorary street dedication. Second Street from West Loveland Avenue to O’Bannon Avenue, the block in front of the Loveland Stage Company, was renamed Pat Furterer Way.

The Salute to Leaders Awards program has been led by the Clermont Chamber of Commerce Foundation since 1994. The program prides itself on honoring unsung volunteers and leaders who live, work or volunteer in Clermont County.  For more information, please visit https://clermontchamber.com/salute-to-leaders/.
