State Rep. Jean Schmidt | The Ohio House of Representatives
State Representative Jean Schmidt has expressed her support for the appointment of Lieutenant Governor Jon Husted to the U.S. Senate. Ohio Governor Mike DeWine selected Husted to fill the vacant Senate seat.
In a statement, Schmidt said, “I am thrilled to hear that Lieutenant Governor Husted will be our next United States Senator. I have known Jon for 25 years. There is no finer person who has the skills and experience for the job. In every capacity he has served in, he has made Ohio proud. I know he will continue to do this in the Senate.”
Schmidt also mentioned her eagerness to collaborate with Husted on initiatives related to the America First agenda and improving life for Ohio residents.
