The Ohio House of Representatives has initiated the budget process for the state's operating and transportation budgets for fiscal years 2026-27. State Representative Jean Schmidt, a member of the House Finance Committee, is reviewing the Governor's budget request along with various agencies' program and funding levels.

"I am looking forward to hearing agency director testimonies about the many programs and operations that will affect Ohio and its citizens," said Schmidt.

Schmidt also chairs the House Health Committee, which is set to begin hearings on budget proposals from health-related agencies and boards.

"I am glad to be a part of a broad and robust budget process that will examine important aspects of the budget that affect the health and wellbeing of all Ohioans," stated Schmidt. "I believe the committee will have insightful questions and we look forward to hearing from agency leaders."

Organizations and constituents from Ohio's 62nd District are invited to provide input or submit budget requests by contacting Schmidt’s office. The Governor's budget proposal, as well as additional information and legislative documents related to the budget, are available online.
