State Representative Jean Schmidt (R-Loveland) presented sponsor testimony before the House Veterans and Military Development Committee regarding House Concurrent Resolution 21. The resolution aims to recognize the 250th anniversary of the United States Marine Corps.

If passed, the resolution would formally commend the United States Marine Corps for its role as a critical infantry force and acknowledge its long-standing legacy. The Ohio General Assembly intends this legislation to serve as an official recognition of the Marines' service.

“The courage and sacrifice of the Marines have been instrumental in securing our nation's freedoms,” said Schmidt. “This resolution signifies the reverence the State of Ohio has for all who have answered the call to serve their country by joining the United States Marine Corps.”

The committee will consider further action on the legislation.
