City of Madeira issued the following announcement on Mar 3.
City Council is pleased to provide the 2021 Annual Report on the Comprehensive Plan implementation. The full report can be read HERE.
City continues to work diligently to implement the Comprehensive Plan through multiple initiatives. Despite 2020 and 2021 being uniquely challenging years for collaboration, the City has made significant progress with over 80% of the plan strategies already either complete or underway. To date, the Comprehensive Plan has already been leveraged by the City to secure over $3.8 Million in outside grant funding for a variety of projects.
Highlights Include:
- Zoning Code: Update complete and revised code became effective in December of 2021.
- McDonald Commons: Secured $215,000 from the Ohio Capital Appropriation Fund for the development of a Master Plan and initial work to create a generational renovation to the facility.
- Miami Avenue Complete Streets and Revitalization: Awarded $3.58 million dollar grant through SORTA's Transit Infrastructure Fund. The grant will fund a significant portion of the work that was outlined in the 2020 Miami Avenue Traffic Study.
