We are so excited for the City of Wyoming to implement the Food Waste Drop-Off Program.
This program will impact the community in many ways. We know that this program will benefit the environment. Composting offsets landfilling, reduces greenhouse emissions, and converts waste to useful soil amendments.
ESC estimates the program will initially divert 12 tons of food waste from the landfill and reduce Wyoming’s share of emissions by 9.36 metric tons per year—with room to increase these impacts as participation grows.
