The Ohio House of Representatives has passed House Bill 268, a measure that aims to honor the memory of Richard "Dick" Mallon by designating a portion of State Route 32 as the Richard "Dick" Mallon Memorial Highway. He served as a veteran of the United States Navy and played important roles in various organizations. He was the President of the Clermont County Chamber of Commerce, co-founder of the Clermont County Convention and Visitors Bureau, and a founding member of the Clermont County Law Enforcement Appreciation Association.
State Rep. Jean Schmidt praised Mallon's dedication and commitment to his community, stating, "Dick Mallon was a true example of what it means to dedicate your life to something bigger than yourself. Mr. Mallon was a friend. He cared deeply about his community and worked to put Clermont County on a path towards growth."
