State Representative Jean Schmidt has expressed her sorrow following the death of State Senator Kirk Schuring. In a statement, Schmidt highlighted her long-standing professional relationship with Schuring and praised his commitment to public service.
"I am deeply saddened by the loss of Senator Schuring," said Schmidt. She recalled their time working together 24 years ago and noted her pleasure in finding him still active in the legislature upon her return to the Statehouse.
Schmidt emphasized Schuring's dedication to Ohio, describing him as a "dedicated public servant who sacrificed time away from his family to make Ohio the best place to raise a family." She also mentioned his love for Ohio, his family, and his faith. Concluding her statement, she wished him peace in rest.
