The Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation (JPML) has decided against centralizing class action lawsuits involving the National Association of Realtors (NAR). The panel cited a settlement agreement reached by NAR with plaintiffs on March 15 as a factor that could resolve many of the claims in the ongoing cases.
NAR expressed satisfaction with the decision, stating, "It reflects that NAR’s settlement, which, if approved by the court, would end litigation nationwide for NAR and other released parties in the cases brought by home sellers."
The JPML ruling does not influence the approval process for the settlement agreement.
