Home sales and median prices in Greater Cincinnati saw an increase in October 2024 compared to the same period last year, according to the REALTOR® Alliance of Greater Cincinnati. Sales reached 1,595 units, marking a 16.3% rise from the previous year's figure of 1,311. The median sales price across Butler, Clermont, Hamilton, and Warren counties was $295,000, up by 5.4% from October 2023's $279,900.
Tracy Dunne, President of the REALTOR® Alliance of Greater Cincinnati, commented on the market's performance: “The Greater Cincinnati housing market continues to exhibit strong resiliency, as the pace of sales and median prices remain on an uptick from levels recorded a year ago.” Dunne highlighted that buyer demand remains robust due to moderating interest rates and the perception of housing as a solid long-term investment.
“REALTORS® throughout Greater Cincinnati are highly skilled, trained experts ready to help buyers and sellers successfully navigate today’s competitive marketplace,” added Dunne.
For the first ten months of 2024, home sales activity increased by 1.7% compared to January-October 2023. Year-to-date sales reached 14,590 units versus 14,353 during the same period last year. The median price for this period was $295,500—a rise of 5.5% from $280,000 recorded previously.
The data comes from the Multiple Listing Service of Greater Cincinnati and includes residential closings for new and existing single-family homes and condominiums. The REALTOR® Alliance represents over 5,600 real estate professionals committed to a strict Code of Ethics.
