Home sales and median prices in Greater Cincinnati saw increases in December 2024 compared to the same period the previous year, as reported by the REALTOR Alliance of Greater Cincinnati. The region, encompassing Butler, Clermont, Hamilton, and Warren counties, recorded 1,288 home sales in December 2024. This marks a 16.7% rise from the 1,103 sales during December 2023. The median sales price reached $295,000 in December 2024, up by 10.9% from $266,005 in December of the previous year.
“The Greater Cincinnati housing market continues to exhibit strength, with both sales activity and median prices posting gains in December, as well as throughout 2024,” stated DaVan Gassett, President of the REALTOR Alliance of Greater Cincinnati. He noted that buyers benefited from moderating interest rates and an increase in available homes for sale.
Gassett further remarked on consumer confidence: “It’s evident that consumers appreciate that housing is a wise long-term investment.” He emphasized that REALTORS in Greater Cincinnati are skilled at assisting buyers and sellers in navigating today's competitive market.
For the entire year of 2024, home sales increased by 3.7% compared to January-December 2023. Total year-end sales reached 17,268 units compared to the previous year's figure of 16,653 units sold. The annual median price was also up by 5.5%, reaching $295,000 from $279,500 recorded for the prior year.
The data originates from reports compiled within the Multiple Listing Service of Greater Cincinnati covering residential closings for both new and existing single-family homes and condominiums.
