The REALTOR Alliance of Greater Cincinnati (RAGC) has been recognized nationally by the REALTOR Party for its significant contributions to housing policy and smart growth in Cincinnati. This acknowledgment highlights RAGC's role in the "Connected Communities" zoning reform initiative, which was passed by the Cincinnati City Council with a 6-3 vote.

The initiative aims to increase housing supply, promote walkability, support small businesses, and address exclusionary zoning practices. The success is attributed to over two years of strategic advocacy and collaboration, utilizing NAR Smart Growth and Housing Opportunity grants.

RAGC's efforts were supported by NAR’s Land Use Initiative (LUI), which provided a detailed legal review of proposed zoning changes. This allowed RAGC to prepare effective position statements and public testimony that ensured the final language was both legally sound and community-focused.

The recognition celebrates RAGC's impactful local advocacy as a national model for success. The organization plans to continue its leadership in initiatives like OWN Cincy and the Homeownership Symposium.

The RAGC Advocacy Team expressed gratitude towards its members for their investments and participation, as well as NAR for providing resources that empower REALTORS to lead smart growth efforts.
