On May 21, 2025, the REALTOR Alliance of Greater Cincinnati (RAGC) hosted Laura Brunner, President & CEO of the Port of Greater Cincinnati Development Authority. During her visit, Brunner discussed The Port’s mission and several projects aimed at revitalizing communities in Hamilton County.
Brunner highlighted The Port’s initiative to transform the former BASF office site in Winton Hills. By dividing the property into two industrial parcels, The Port aims to attract advanced manufacturing facilities and potentially bring up to 200 new jobs to the area. This reflects The Port’s goal of turning underutilized industrial sites into economic growth hubs.
The planned acquisition and redevelopment of the historic Crosley Building in Camp Washington was another key point. With $5 million allocated for environmental remediation and demolition, The Port plans to convert the 330,000-square-foot structure into an economic center while preserving its architectural heritage.
Addressing affordable housing needs, Brunner mentioned The Port’s issuance of $29 million in bonds for apartment projects in Walnut Hills and Norwood. These developments aim to improve housing options and stimulate local economies.
To support its mission further, The Port is relocating its offices to a new 15,000-square-foot space in Atrium Two downtown. This nearly $1 million investment is expected to be completed by June 30, 2025.
Brunner stressed collaboration between The Port and organizations like RAGC as crucial for driving equitable development and improving neighborhoods across Hamilton County.
