Clinton County History Center issued the following announcement on Jan. 5.
Ever wonder how important local history is? Or what other forms it may take? Pictured here is Monica, taken a few months ago. She visited us from Baltimore with her mom, Christine, who lives in California. Her ancestors were from Clinton County OH and were prominent Quakers in the region.
Monica is standing in front of our 1840s Quaker Abolitionist Quilt. Her ancestor, Rebecca Harvey Hadley (1795-1876), stitched the flower you see pictured in the distance.
After years of genealogy research, Monica decided she wanted to keep her relatives and their heritage with her forever - by way of a tattoo!! Her tattoo was complete in early 2021 before her visit to the History Center in November 2021.
Talk about a great way to memorialize your ancestors and Quaker roots!
