Sheila Holmes Howard has been recognized for her significant contributions to the community with a proclamation from the Hamilton County Commissioners. This honor comes during Black History Month, a time when the commissioners acknowledge the essential role African Americans play in shaping the nation.

Sheila, who has lived in Avondale for over 20 years, is celebrated for her extensive community involvement. Married to Greg Howard for 25 years, she began her journey of service within her neighborhood. For 18 years, Sheila served as a board trustee, board secretary, and vice president of the Avondale Community Council. Her efforts include organizing an annual Thanksgiving food drive that supports 1,050 families and hosting a Christmas toy giveaway for 12 years.

Beyond local initiatives, Sheila worked with the Board of Elections as a poll worker and voting location manager for ten years. She also contributed to the 2010 U.S. Census as a partnership assistant and crew leader supervisor.

In real estate, Sheila boasts a 37-year career as a REALTOR and founded SHH Realty Group, LLC. Her company holds an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau (BBB). Sheila's achievements have earned her several awards such as the Nefertiti Award, Dada Rafiki Award, Avondale Resident of the Year, and Avondale Community Champion Award in 2022. In addition to these accolades, she received recognition from the Collective Empowerment Group of Metro Cincinnati with their Top Business Award in 2023.
