The REALTOR Alliance of Greater Cincinnati (RAGC) has announced the receipt of a $7,500 Housing Opportunity Grant from the National Association of REALTORS (NAR). The grant will support a Southwestern Symposium on Housing Development scheduled for this fall.

The event aims to unite elected officials, REALTORS, developers, planners, lenders, and land banks from Hamilton, Butler, and Warren counties. The focus will be on the Ohio REALTORS Housing Template Toolbook, which is considered one of the state's promising new housing resources.

The toolbook was developed by Ohio REALTORS in collaboration with the Greater Ohio Policy Center. It includes pre-approved architectural plans for infill housing, zoning adjustment strategies to remove development barriers, and guidelines for expedited permitting and infill site activation.

The symposium will demonstrate how Southwest Ohio communities can implement these tools. Discussions will cover adapting house renderings to local codes and using modular construction and creative financing to expedite affordable housing projects.

Participants can expect comments from local officials on regional housing plans and case studies on zoning reform. Sessions will include input from modular manufacturers, financial institutions, and the Ohio REALTORS policy team. Breakout sessions are designed to assist jurisdictions in applying the Housing Ohio plans locally.

“Receiving this grant is a vote of confidence in REALTORS as critical partners in solving Ohio’s housing challenges,” stated Mary Huttlinger, Government Affairs Director for RAGC. “Our region is ready for bold ideas and real tools—and this symposium will deliver both.”

RAGC Advocacy Chair Heather Kopf emphasized the practical focus of the event: “This isn’t just another policy discussion—this is about execution. Local leaders need real tools to get housing built, and the Housing Ohio toolkit provides just that. We’re excited to bring everyone to the table to move from conversation to construction.”

The symposium is expected to attract leaders interested in developing tangible solutions. Post-event resources and technical assistance will be offered to local governments and community partners wishing to adopt or adapt the Housing Ohio framework.

Details regarding event registration will be released soon.
